Vanessa Malaluan is the Founder & Managing Director of Pinnaclecore Academy with 20 years’ experience in construction and oil & gas industries, specialising in planning and scheduling, project controls, claims and defence, and alternative dispute resolution (ADR).
She holds several qualifications, such as Master of Laws in Construction Law and Arbitration (with Merit) and Master of Business Administration (with Merit) from Robert Gordon University (Aberdeen,UK) as well as Postgraduate Diploma in Law from BPP Law School (London, UK). She also acquired BSc Degree in Civil Engineering and has gained 15 years working in the Middle East region.
Vanessa is a Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, a Fellow Member of the Philippine Institute of Arbitrators, a trained Tribunal Secretary by the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre, a trained Arbitrator by the Philippine Dispute Resolution Center, and an SCL Philippines member. She is both PMP and PMI-RMP certified, and the first Filipino to obtain the Registered Expert Witness status of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in the MENA region. Since 2022, she serves as one of the Board Directors of Ciarb Qatar Branch, being the first and only Filipino to be elected to such position.
Moreover, Vanessa has extensive experience in the preparation and assessment of time extension and various cost claims. She has acted as a witness of fact and has assisted a testifying delay expert in several arbitration cases in Qatar and KSA. In addition, she has also assisted a quantum expert for the independent assessment of the contractor’s claim for a high value project in KSA.
Vanessa also received an MBA Strategy Award for Sustainability from RGU Aberdeen Business School and at the same time, she was recognised as one of the ‘Modern Heroes of the Philippines’ (2024) by the Gawad Bayaning Pilipino and ‘Top Engineers in the Middle East’ (2023, 2025) by The Filipino Times.
